The idea of Lights for the Blind came about after learning the importance of light for blind people and the discovery that up to 90% of people diagnosed as blind can see light.
Using LEDs arranged in the braille font, people who are blind and can read braille can use the LEDs as a location for braille and can read the tips of the LEDs with their fingers.
There is also the possibility for someone who is blind to read the LEDs with their eyes.
